While you hold the door jamb switch in this position complete the following steps.
Spectra oven locked door.
The lock should be in the top center of the door.
With the door open locate the door jamb switch on the face of the oven.
Don t force the latch.
The door must be fully opened and each hinge must be locked down against the door frame.
Now the oven door won t close and the locking latch needs to be returned read more.
If you haven t cleaned the oven but the door still seems locked try sliding the latch to the left gently without force.
Press the clean pad wait 10 seconds.
If there are screws near the top or front that attach the oven top to the base unscrew them and pull the oven top up.
3 set the flashing clock to the current time.
The oven door has been locked accidentally.
If you have food in a locked oven wait until the oven cools to room temperature before trying to unlatch the door again.
If you re locked out of your own ge spectra oven dinner may be a little later than planned.
1 remove power to the oven unplug the oven from the power outlet or flip the circuit breaker for the oven.
We have a ge spectra stove oven and somehow the self cleaning lock on the oven door got tripped while the oven door was open.
If the oven is empty of food and utensils initiate a self clean cycle.
Close the door to the stop broil position and lift the door straight out.
It will look like a small black post or dowel.
4 slide the door locking lever on front of the oven if applicable or simply just open the door.
While the switch is depressed the latch motor will.
Once the oven cools after cleaning move the latch to the left to unlock the door.
Clear the lock mechanism as indicated by the door loc light by pressing and holding in the oven door light switch for 20 to 30 seconds.
If no food or utensils are in the oven start a self clean cycle then hit clear off after 60 seconds.
Detach the oven door.
Many newer ovens will have these screws more concealed than older models.
But releasing the lock may be a simple fix.
Push it in until the oven cavity light goes off indicating that the oven believes the door is closed.
2 wait approximately 10 minutes and reapply power to the oven.
If it doesn t move freely wait for the oven to cool a little longer and try again.
